Peering Forest

Rain Forest Pavilion

2021 (Year 1)

Le Corbusier’s Five Points of Architecture (pilotis, roof garden, open plan, strip windows, free facade) are utilized in the design of an environmentally sustainable mediatheque positioned at the edge of a rainforest clearing. The pavilion provides for visitors of the national park as well as hikers and rangers.

It includes a media space, exhibition area, kitchen, and seating. The universal access ramp zig zags through the spaces, revealing more and more framed glimpses of the clearing - reflecting the movement of hiking on a bush track - before finally fully emerging into a vista point.
